EUR / COUNTRY BILL GUIDE

Ireland electricity bills, explained.

Compare Republic of Ireland plans by meter type, location category, standing charge, levy, discount conditions and energy price.

Match the type of account

Urban and rural standing charges differ in the provider examples. A standard24-hour plan, a smart time-of-use plan and a prepay product are different offers. The library marks the exact example scope; it does not imply every account can subscribe.

Separate a standard price from a conditional discount

Direct-debit, online-account and billing conditions can affect an advertised price. Start with the standard posted price, then enter a discount only if the written offer confirms that it applies to you. Do not count a welcome credit every month.

Compare recurring and first-period cost

Annual standing charges are prorated by days/365 in this model; monthly levies use the billing-month input. Keep any exit fee and one-time credit separate from recurring costs. Republic of Ireland examples are not prices for Northern Ireland.

Dated prices to investigate

Questions, answered.

Is the lowest displayed unit rate always the lowest bill?

No. Standing charges, levies, discounts, usage and one-time terms can change the total. Compare recurring and first-period cost separately.

Can I compare a prepay plan with my standard plan?

Yes as a scenario, but confirm meter and payment eligibility. A lower modeled price does not prove that the product is available to your account.
