Bill files are read in your browser

PDF and image analysis runs on your device. The original bill and extracted raw text are not uploaded to HAUSE by the bill reader. Reading a file may load text-recognition software and language files from hosting providers; your bill file is not part of those downloads. Review every detected value before using it.

Your email account

Our existing Supabase authentication service receives your email to deliver a sign-in code and verify your account. HAUSE uses a secure session cookie, valid for up to seven days, to keep you signed in. The server stores a hash of that session token with your email and account reference. Sign out on shared devices. Account creation does not opt you into marketing.

Your private report library

When you confirm a report, the reviewed numbers, utility name, country, broad region, calculation results and optional research choice are sent to HAUSE’s Cloudflare service. Reports, billing period dates, tariff names and input-quality flags are accessible through your signed-in account for 90 days (730 days with the separate longer-history choice), then removed by a daily cleanup. Original files, raw extracted text, utility account numbers and service addresses are not part of the report payload. Do not put private identifiers in the utility name field.

You can export or delete reports from your account. Deletion removes the saved report values immediately. A pseudonymous record of the analysis allowance remains until cleanup after the daily limit has passed, so deletion cannot reset the allowance.

Abuse prevention and service providers

Household context, AI and retention choices

Optional home type, ownership, heating, household size, equipment and goals are stored with your pseudonymous account reference in Cloudflare D1. Household settings and dated consent records are kept while the account is used, then removed after two years of inactivity. You can export or delete your HAUSE data in your account. Deleting HAUSE data signs out all sessions but does not delete the separate Supabase authentication record or records already sent through a contact request.

Only when you request an AI explanation do we send reviewed, de-identified bill figures, calculated metrics and a relevant previous-bill comparison to Cloudflare Workers AI. We exclude your email, original file, raw extracted text, utility name and tariff free text. The generated explanation is retained no longer than its bill report. AI can be wrong; review conclusions against your bill. Withdrawing longer-history permission restores the original 90-day report expiry and can make older reports unavailable immediately.

Calendar reminders are downloaded to your device. They do not send email. Joining the founding household cohort records pilot participation without opting you into marketing or third-party introductions. There is no live utility-account connection or individual-bill data marketplace.

Cloudflare Turnstile checks submissions for automated abuse. Cloudflare receives network and browser information as part of delivering and securing this site. HAUSE stores keyed hashes of IP addresses and email addresses in short-lived request counters. Sign-in challenges expire after 10 minutes; request counters and expired sessions are removed by daily cleanup. These protections do not make you a marketing contact.

What stays on this device

The home energy plan stores its checkmarks in your browser. Earlier versions may also have saved reports locally; clearing this site’s browser storage removes those old copies. Device storage is separate from your online report library.

When you request help

With your consent, HAUSE receives your name, email, optional phone, postal code, region, project details and the bill summary or calculator results you choose to include. The form also sends its page URL, referrer and available campaign attribution. HAUSE uses its lead-management and email-service providers to receive, manage and respond to requests. Do not include payment information or account numbers in your message.

Optional research permission

A separate, optional checkbox lets HAUSE use submitted bill amounts, usage, provider and broad region to develop aggregate comparisons without publishing your contact details. This permission is not required to create a report, use a calculator or request help. Household settings can apply research permission to retained and future reports, or withdraw it from future use of retained reports. Aggregate research may inform future commercial insights. It does not authorize selling your identity or individual bills. No external research dataset is currently published. Published aggregate findings, if created later, cannot be withdrawn retroactively. Input-quality scores describe completeness and reconciliation; they are not evidence that a utility verified the bill.

Questions and deletion requests

Use the HAUSE contact form to ask about information you have submitted or request its deletion when contact intake is available. You can delete and export online bill reports directly from your account.
