How HAUSE gets from a bill to a number.

What is measured, entered and published—and what the model leaves out.

Four evidence types

Official published tariff: a regulator or utility schedule, within its stated customer class and dates. Provider-posted price: a supplier’s own publication, subject to eligibility and terms. Reference benchmark: an average or cap reference, not an individual offer. User-entered scenario: values you supply, including edits to an imported record. The library does not rank every supplier or claim a cheapest worldwide offer.

Source and date policy

Imported records include the original URL, publisher, country, currency, effective-from date, known effective-to date, check date and review-by date. Review-by is our recheck deadline, not a promise that the supplier holds its price. Both ends of the modeled period are checked and overdue records are blocked. A tariff announced for next month cannot silently price last month’s bill.

Calculation rules

Flat energy is kWh × rate. Block pricing allocates consumption through entered block sizes. Time-of-use pricing sums kWh × rate for each band; shares must total 100%. Tier allowances cover the entire entered period and are not automatically prorated. Fixed amounts are daily fee × days, monthly fee × entered billing months, and annual fee × days/365. The percentage discount applies to energy only. Additional tax applies to discounted energy plus modeled fixed charges. Exit fees are added and one-time credits subtracted after that recurring amount. Credits are capped at the modeled charge; the tool does not invent a payout.

Inclusions and exclusions

Already tax-inclusive components start with additional tax at zero. The generic tax field does not implement every exemption, separate taxable base or supplier rounding rule. Complex demand and capacity formulas, automatic interval-calendar alignment, fuel adjustments, solar export settlement, negative prices, conditional usage credits and subsidy eligibility need separate documented calculations. Every record exposes omissions and conditions. The selected-period result models entered components; it is not a utility-verified full bill.

Worldwide entry and document reading

UN M49 supplies the country/territory catalogue and Unicode CLDR supplies currency defaults. This edition has 250 entry choices and 162 currencies. Thirteen country guides and five markets with numeric presets are a smaller, explicit coverage set. Native PDF text and selected Latin-script OCR languages can assist extraction; unfamiliar scripts and layouts need manual entry. No foreign-exchange conversion is performed.

Personal bills and AI

Original files and raw extracted text remain in the browser. Sign-in and explicit review are required before saving personal results; the server enforces one new analysis per account per UTC day. Optional AI uses bounded reviewed numeric facts after separate consent. International free-text region names are excluded from the bill-insight AI payload. Private comparisons and aggregate costs keep currencies separate. Research is optional and small cohorts are suppressed. No individual bill is published in the public rate dataset.

Editorial responsibility and corrections

HAUSE Energy publishes these tools and English-language explanations. Attribution does not imply affiliation or endorsement by the named provider. This is a curated source library, not a complete supplier marketplace. Source changes are reviewed before publication; no automatic production tariff feed or recurring monitoring is claimed.

Summary differences use totals rounded to the currency’s minor unit, while component calculations retain precision. Supplier-specific rounding can differ.

Send a correction with a source link, customer class, dates and non-identifying rate details through the contribution form. Do not send an unredacted bill.

Inspect the public records

JSON records and CSV components include curated public facts and source metadata. These are not customer bills, original provider documents or a license to redistribute provider content.
