SGD / COUNTRY BILL GUIDE

Singapore electricity bills, explained.

Use the regulated electricity tariff as a dated reference, then compare any retailer offer on the same GST basis and billing period.

Know which purchase option you use

The regulated tariff is published by SP Group and regulated by EMA. A retailer contract may use a different fixed or variable price and different terms. The library records the applicable quarter instead of presenting a permanently current national price.

Keep cents and dollars straight

Convert Singapore cents per kWh into SGD per kWh before entering a rate. Use either a tax-inclusive rate with no additional GST, or the published pre-GST rate with the matching GST percentage. Applying both a GST-inclusive price and another tax percentage overstates the model.

Compare the electricity component

A statement may contain services other than electricity. Use current electricity charges and electricity kWh, then keep rebates or account-specific adjustments separate. Before switching, confirm contract duration, payment requirements, renewal terms and any early termination charge in the retailer’s written offer.

Dated prices to investigate

Questions, answered.

Why does my estimate differ slightly from a rounded published rate?

A displayed tax-inclusive unit price may be rounded. Multiplying a pre-tax price and then applying tax can produce a small difference from multiplying an already-rounded inclusive price.

Does HAUSE compare every Singapore retailer?
